The New York Ranger Harry Howell stayed with the NHL team for 17 years. His great play during the 1966-1967 season earned him the Norris Trophy for top defenceman. This prompted fans in New York to host a Harry Howell Night at Madison Square Garden.
Brian Leetch drafted by the New York Rangers in 1986. He participated in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary.In the 1991-1992 season he earned the Norris Trophy for top defenceman with 22 goals, and scoring 102 points.
